Web Archiving | Archive, copy, move and clean up business documents.

Lasernet has it's own web archiving system that complies with legislation to archive, copy, move and clean up business documents.

Did you know that if you have a newer version of Lasernet (6.0.0.5 and onwards), then you already have all these features for web archiving in your solution? Read along to know more about the features and learn how to include them to your solution.

With these features, you can check your archive, delete or move older files. After 5 years, there is no need to save business documents. With Lasernet's web archive system, you can set the system for delete these files, so they won't take up storage space.

This archive is for Dynamics AX and Dynamics 365.

Archive Life Span

The operations Process Archive life span, Copy, Move and Clean up is provided in the connection and is useful for moving between different storage/archive types or if moving from Azure to OnPrem or OnPrem to Azure.

Also, the archive makes it's possible to move between different types of Azure storage – Like to a low cost Azure Storage such as Azure Cool Storage or Azure Archive Storage.

Process archive life span

Process archive life span will define the life span and determine when files are moved to an "alternative" storage.

Report life span

It's possible to define the Report Life span in the Lasernet parameters or for a specific report. Documents are moved to the "alternative" storage once they pass the expiration - the current system-date is used to calculate the expiration.

Report life span id

The Report Life span id defined in the Lasernet parameters is used for all reports unless Report Life span id are specified for specific report(s). Report life span in the Lasernet parameters (Lasernet > Setup > Parameters).

Report life span for a report

Report life span for a specific report (Lasernet > Common > Reports).

Copy / move files

In the web archive, you can copy files in an easy way by following these steps:

Parameters
From storage: The storage (connection) from which the files are copied / moved from.
To storage: The storage (connection) for which the files are copied / moved to.

Condition
File name filter: Optional: Specify the report-name or part of the report-name (prefix filter).
Load files older than: Specify a date which the files should be older than.

Options
First calculate how many files will be affected:
1. Calculate the number and size of the files with the option to cancel.
2. Cancel will skip the update of the references in the Lasernet Archive and will not copy the files to the storage.
Overwrite existing files: Press yes to overwrite existing files.
Skip archive update:
1. Skip the update of the entries/records in the Lasernet Archive.
2. This option will also use the date from the storage and not the data in the Lasernet Archive in relation to the option ‘Load files older than’.
Maximum files to process: The maximum number of files to process.

Clean up

In the web archive, you can clean up in your files in an easy way by following these steps:

Parameters
Delete files in storage: The storage (connection) from which the files are deleted from.
Delete only of also found in storage: Optional: onlyt delete files if the files exist in this storage.

Condition
File name filter: Optional: Specify the report-name or part of the report-name (prefix filter).
Load files older than: Specify a date which the files should be older than.

Options
First calculate how many files will be affected:
1. Calculate the number and size of the files with the option to cancel.
2. Cancel will skip the update of the references in the Lasernet Archive and will not copy the files to the storage.
Maximum files to process: The maximum number of files to be processed.
Skip archive update:
1. Skip the update of the entries/records in the Lasernet Archive.
2. This option will also use the date from the storage and not the data in the Lasernet Archive in relation to the option ‘Load files older than’.
Delete Archive records if files do not exist: Will delete any entries in the Lasernet archive for which the files do not exist.
